CSR Activities

One Scoop | One Shoot

On 2nd June 2026, Control Union Sri Lanka welcomed hundreds of visitors to its “One Scoop | One Shoot” community initiative in Colombo. The concept was simple yet meaningful: offer a free ice cream to help cool people down while distributing fruit tree saplings to help cool the planet. Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed a refreshing treat and took home a sapling to plant in their homes and communities. The event brought together the spirit of Vesak, community engagement, and environmental responsibility in a unique and memorable way. A total of 1,000 fruit tree saplings representing nine species were distributed. Most were underutilized fruit tree varieties selected for their climate suitability and potential to support biodiversity, urban greening, and local food security. The saplings were provided in recyclable paper bags as part of the event’s commitment to responsible resource use. In conjunction with World Environment Day, we are proud to share the measurable impact of this initiative.

Tree Planting

Control Union’s Tree Planting Initiative for a Sustainable Tomorrow… ‘Wee Oya’ Watershed in Central Sri Lanka is a place to endure the enchanting beauty of Mother Nature. Control Union Sri Lanka recently planted over 1000 native trees at ‘Wee Oya’ basin in our journey to ‘Net-zero’. Together, we dug, planted, and nurtured the promise of a greener tomorrow. With every sapling, we contributed to a thriving ecosystem and took a step closer to a more sustainable future. Effort of Control Union was truly supported by ‘Kelani Valley Plantations PLC.’ and the local community. Let’s continue to sow the seeds of positive change and watch them grow into a canopy of greener hope!

Plastic Waste Collection

Control Union Sri Lanka, in partnership with the Zero Plastic Movement, organized a beach cleanup at Negombo to help protect our coastline. This initiative reflects our commitment to environmental responsibility and creating a cleaner, greener future.
