Life at Control Union
Starting the year the Sri Lankan way…
To welcome 2026, Control Union Sri Lanka began the year with a traditional Sri Lankan morning tea table, bringing colleagues together in a warm and meaningful celebration. The table was filled with kiribath (milk rice) and an assortment of traditional sweets, symbolizing prosperity, unity, and a fresh start for the year ahead.
The celebration commenced with our managing director lighting the traditional Sri Lankan oil lamp, a gesture that signifies the removal of darkness and the welcoming of light, knowledge, and positive energy for new beginnings. Similar gatherings were held at our laboratory, led by the GM Laboratories, as well as across other Control Union local offices. All locations were connected to the main celebration at the Sri Lanka head office via a Teams call, allowing everyone to be part of the occasion together. Following this, the managing director delivered a New Year message, appreciating the team’s dedication and hard work over the past year while encouraging everyone to continue striving for excellence in 2026. The message concluded with warm wishes for a successful and fulfilling year ahead. The celebration continued as the team gathered around to enjoy the traditional treats, sharing good wishes and welcoming the new year together in true Sri Lankan spirit.
